چکیده

Abstract Female mammals, including women, are exposed to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on a daily basis. This is of concern because many EDCs inhibit ovarian follicle growth and steroidogenesis, processes that critical for maintaining female fertility. Our research focuses the effects known as phthalates Phthalates interest they ubiquitous synthetic used plasticizers stabilizers in myriad consumer products, everything from shower curtains children’s toys cosmetics personal care products such perfumes, nail polish, deodorants, lotions. also pesticides, wood finishes, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, defoaming agents, medical devices tubing, blood bags, surgical gloves, dialysis equipment. Despite widespread use human exposure, limited information available about environmentally relevant phthalate mixtures reproduction. Thus, we tested hypothesis prenatal exposure an mixture affects reproduction F1, F2, F3 generations mice. To test this hypothesis, pregnant CD-1 mice were orally dosed with vehicle control (corn oil) or (20µg/kg/day-500mg/kg/day) gestational day 10 birth. The was based urinary metabolite levels measured women United States, consisted 35% diethyl phthalate, 21% di(2-ethylhexyl) 15% dibutyl di-isononyl 8% diisobutyl 5% benzylbutyl phthalate. Adult F1 females born these dams create F2 generation by mating them unexposed males males. At selected times, estrous cyclicity fertility indices monitored ovaries sera collected analysis. data indicate significantly decreases anogenital distance, testosterone levels, litter size, but it increases abnormal cyclicity, uterine weight, number cystic ovaries, follicle-stimulating hormone luteinizing compared generation. Further, our body time pregnancy In addition, distance live pups Collectively, suggest adversely reproductive function multi- transgenerational manner These findings have increased understanding mechanisms which cause toxicity. eventually may lead development novel targets prevention treatment infertility induced EDCs.

Endocrine Disruptors

Law and science combine in the estimation of risks from endocrine disruptors (EDs) and actions for their regulation. For both, dose–response models are the causal link between exposure and probability (or percentage change) of adverse response. The evidence that leads to either regulations or judicial decrees is affected by uncertainty and limited knowledge, raising difficult policy issues that...

Endocrine Disruptors and Obesity

PURPOSE OF REVIEW The purpose of this review was to summarise current evidence that some environmental chemicals may be able to interfere in the endocrine regulation of energy metabolism and adipose tissue structure. RECENT FINDINGS Recent findings demonstrate that such endocrine-disrupting chemicals, termed "obesogens", can promote adipogenesis and cause weight gain. This includes compounds ...

Endocrine Disruptors in Endometriosis

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disease, which involves the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, commonly in the pelvic region. The etiology of the disease is unclear, but multiple factors may contribute to its prognosis. Toxicological studies indicate that many chemicals are able to interfere with endocrine homeostasis, called endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) lik...

Endocrine disruptors: from endocrine to metabolic disruption.

Synthetic chemicals currently used in a variety of industrial and agricultural applications are leading to widespread contamination of the environment. Even though the intended uses of pesticides, plasticizers, antimicrobials, and flame retardants are beneficial, effects on human health are a global concern. These so-called endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) can disrupt hormonal balance and ...

Endocrine disruptors and congenital anomalies.

The specialized literature was reviewed concerning the suspected increasing secular trends in the frequency of female births, male genital congenital anomalies, abnormal sperm counts, and testicular cancer. Although no risk factors could be identified yet, the observed sex ratio decline during the last decades has been considered to be an effect of certain pollutants on normal hormone activity,...
